Richard Lee Branch, 74, Anderson, passed away June 20, 2012, at Countryside Manor, Anderson after a courageous seven-year battle with cancer. He was born December 12, 1937, in Anderson, Indiana, and resided in Anderson most of his life. Richard was a graduate of Franklin Grade School where he played basketball and attended Anderson High School, class of 1957. He served his country in the Air Force Strategic Air Command for eight years. He continued his studies while in the Air Force.

While stationed in Kansas, he met his bride-to-be, Charlene Hite. They were married on December 26, 1958. He retired in 1997 as a supervisor from Delco Remy Division of General Motors. Richard was a member of Whetstone Christian Church where he served on many boards and sang in the choir. He was a member of the Ovid Masonic Lodge #164 F. & A.M. and the American Legion. He enjoyed camping, traveling, visiting friends made during his military years and friends made while wintering in Palmetto, Florida.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Charlene Hite Branch; children, Robert Branch and Laura Bartlett Dan; siblings, Patricia Branch, Larry Branch and Sandi Meek Bill; brother-in-law, Gene Hite Jane; sister-in-law, Barbara Cox Ed; grandchildren, Courtney Bartlett, Stephanie Bartlett, Katie Bartlett and Hannah Bartlett; many nieces and nephews; close friends, David & Sandy Newman of Anderson, Stan & Julie Wasielewski of Huntsville, Alabama, Gary & Glenda Jarvis of Lebo, Kansas and Don & Sandy Jones of Avoca, New York; and puppy, Sami. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Aubra & Marjorie Eulelia Moore Branch; and sisters-in-law, Sylvia Branch and Wendy Hite.
