Richard L. “Dick” Lint, 85, of Elkhart, passed away Monday, January 30, 2017 at the Center for Hospice Care, Elkhart. Richard was born June 30, 1931 in Shipshewana to the late Lloyd and Helen (Moughler) Lint. He married the former Shirley A. Garlets on June 27, 1954 in Mongo.

Shirley passed on July 12, 2009. Surviving are three sons, Jeffrey L. Lint of Indianapolis, Steven R. (Cheryl) Lint and Randall A. Lint, both of Elkhart. Also surviving are five grandchildren; Erica, Robert (Andrea), David (Aubrey), Benjamin and Nathan Lint; 5 great grandchildren; Olivia, Hayden, Peyton, Annabelle, and Lincoln with 2 more on the way and his sister Eleanor Wert. He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Judy Hamilton and brother-in-law, Vern Wert. Richard was the advertising manager at Adams & Westlake-Allied Products Corporation with 35 years of service.

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge where he was a 32nd degree mason, also, Ft. Wayne Mizpah Shrine, Scottish Rite of South Bend, Tyrian Lodge #12, Goshen, Elkhart Shrine Club where he was Shriner of the Year in 1994, and the Elkhart Moose Lodge #599. He was also a former member of the Elkhart Evening Optimist Club and Elkhart Jaycees. Richard enjoyed cards, especially Caribbean Stud Poker and golf.

He and Shirley enjoyed cruises and traveling together. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 until his honorable discharge in 1953. He was a member of the Bristol American Legion and DAV Chapter #19.
