Richard Lawrence Greif, 93, of Granger, IA, passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, IA.
Richard was born March 23, 1928, in Granger, son of the late Lawrence Charles and Mildred Viola (Shanks) Greif. He attended school in Granger and later entered the United States Army, where he served his country during the Korean War.
On July 16, 1950, he was united in marriage to Margaret Corrienne Biggs in Granger. They made their home in Granger most of their married life where he worked for John Deere for 38 years.
He was preceded in death by his parent’s 7 siblings, Katherine, Ruby, Bill, Junior, Albert Lee, Ralph, and Nancy.
Richard is survived by two daughters, Jeanine Snider of Des Moines and Joyce (Kelly) Scott of Perry, IA, four grandchildren, Shannon, Ryan, Angie, and Marty, and four great-grandchildren, Dalton, Ashley, Brandon, and Monica as well as two sisters, Evelyn Shafer of Grimes and Bettie Nixon of Granger.
