Richard J. Poulaino, 75, of Southington, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2011 at Branford Hospice. He was the beloved husband for 56 years to Marie (Beaudry) Poulaino. Richard was born on June 24, 1936 in Norwich to the late Konstantin and Elizabeth Cherbachevich Poulaino.
Richard was a longtime Meriden resident before moving to Southington. He was employed with General Electric in Plainville for 37 years until his retirement. After retiring, he was able to fulfill his love for traveling with Marie. Together they would take trips in the RV and go camping, all the while enjoying each others company. Richard adored his family and friends and cherished each moment with them.
Along with his loving wife Marie Poulaino of Southington, he leaves his 3 children Richard M. Poulaino and his wife June of Meriden; Lynn Logoyke and her husband Alex of Southington; and Susan Gardner of Manchester, and a sister Lena Shaver and her husband Olin of Mystic. He also leaves his 2 grandchildren Amy Lynn Gardner and Zachary Gardner, 1 step granddaughter Stephanie Smith and 3 step great grandchildren Brian M. Grant; Frank E. Smith, III and Mahala D. Smith. He was predeceased by two sisters, Liz Way and Olga Parker.
