Richard Henry Meade, age 96, passed away peacefully, Monday, November 13, 2017 at the Grand Rapids Home of Veterans.
He was born July 14, 1921 in Vandalia, Michigan the youngest of four children born to Jed and Coral (Ayers) Meade.
He was preceded in death by his wife Arlene (Kessler) Meade; one son, Richard Lee Meade; three brothers, William Meade, Neil Meade, and Donald Meade.
Richard served honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Richard will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by one daughter, Frances Herndon of Three Rivers; one son, Douglas Mathews of Vandalia; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
