Richard H. Neff Sr., 88, of Akron, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Oct. 15, 2014. He was born on May 27, 1926 in West Virginia. He was a wounded veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II.
Richard was retired from Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Neff, Daughters Becky Ringwald, Coleen Johnson (Eddie), Son Pastor Robert A. Neff Sr. (Diana), Step Daughter Suzanne Gill (Larry), Sisters Ethel Mae Douglas & Virginia Spencer. 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, & several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in Death by his Wife Phyllis C. (Wenger) Neff, Son Richard (Ricky) H. Neff Jr., Father Alva Neff, Mother Macil Neff, Sister Betty, & Brother Alva Jr. (Junior). Richard loved to hunt and fish, and was a great story teller. He also loved to entertain his family with his expert harmonica playing.
He was also very proud to have served with Red Skelton in the Army. He & his wife Anna, enjoyed going to flea markets.
