Richard Greene, 82, of Bloomington passed away August 29, 2009 at the Bloomington Hospital.
Born, September 16, 1926 in Monroe County, he was the son of Ed and Ruth (Smith) Greene. Richard was the owner/proprietor of Greene & Sons Salvage Company. He was a Navy Veteran serving in WWII and Korea. Richard was a member of the American Legion in Spencer, IN. He was also a member of the Paynetown Church.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mary (Lucas) Greene of Bloomington, nephews, Joe Ed Greene, Tom Greene, Johnny Richard Greene all of Spencer, nieces, Georgianna Parker, Nancy Essl both of Bloomington, and Connie Greene of Ann Arbor, MI.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law, Dorothy Lucas Sexton, grandfather-in-law, Harley Lucas, three brothers, John E. Greene, Joseph H. Greene, infant Thomas Greene, three sisters, Mildred Branum, Helen Wampler, and Ruth Ann Greene.
