Richard Paul Gavin Sr., age 90, of Trussville, passed away June 22, 2011. He was a veteran of WWII and Korea. During WWII, he was stationed in the Pacific and also the European Theaters and was in the second wave on D-Day. He was awarded two Bronze Stars and 2 Purple Hearts. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Elks Club. He was preceded in death by his wife Marion Gavin and son Richard Gavin Jr.
