Richard Gallegos, 81, of Clovis, NM, passed away March 26, 2015 in Lubbock, TX.

Richard was born February 7, 1934 to Merenciano Gallegos and Manuelita Valdez in Amarillo, TX. He married Rose Beltran in 1953 in Clovis, NM. He was a painter, enjoyed fishing, and collecting antiques such as fishing rods. He frequented garage sales and playing slot machines. Richard was a very giving man and always helped anyone. He loved to teach his trade of painting to co-workers.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Gallegos; six sons, Manuel Beltran (Alvira), Richard (Hope) Edward, Arthur (Caroline), Daniel, and Joey; six daughters, Frances Gallegos, Helen Gallegos (Joe), Priscilla Anderson (Shawnn), Erlinda Garcia (Javier), Mary Ann Garcia, Rebecca Byrd; one brother, Lupe Gallegos (Flora); 24 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; and 24 great great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Merenciano Gallegos and Manuelita Valdez; one son, David (Birdy) Gallegos; three brothers, Jose and Leo Gallegos, Jimmy Marez; two sisters, Eulalia Gallegos and Terri Amarrilla; son-in-law, Michael Fitzharris; three great grandsons; and two great great grandsons.
