Richard Everett Bengtson died on February 7, 2017 at The Village at South Farms in Middletown. He was born to Arnold and Anna Kittredge Bengtson on February 28, 1931. He attended local schools and, upon graduation from Woodrow Wilson High School, he joined the Navy during the Korean War, attaining the rank of Petty Officer 1st Class. He graduated from the University of Hartford in 1959 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked as a Manager of Buildings for SNET for more than 30 years.
