Mr. Richard Dunleavy
, 73, passed away on Wednesday September 22, 2010 in the Clara Maass Continuing Care Center at West Hudson in Kearny.
Mr. Dunleavy was born in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, Scotland and came to Kearny 45 years ago. He served as a Medic in the British Army and was stationed in Malaysia.
He was employed as a diamond cutter for Harrison Alloys in Harrison for 25 years. He retired 6 years ago. He was a member of the Kearny Irish American Association and was a past vice president of the club.
He was pre-deceased by his wife Mary Jane (Fearon) on December 6, 2007.
He is survived by his daughter Kim Mortimer and his son Richard Dunleavy, Jr.
He was the grandfather of Heather Infantas, Lauren O’Hagan and Megan Mortimer. He was the great-grandfather of Liana Infantas, and Kylie Infantas.
