Richard “Dick” Lorenzo Grover

Richard “Dick” Lorenzo Grover, 68, passed away March 9, 2013 at a care center in Gooding, Idaho, after a long struggle with health problems.

Richard was born on December 28, 1944 in Ogden, Utah to goodly parents, Alma and Persis Grover. Richard was the eldest living child with two brothers and one sister.  During his childhood he lived in New Plymouth, Weiser, and Middleton, Idaho where he graduated in 1963.

On August 30, 1963 he married his eternal sweetheart, Glenna Despain, in the Idaho Falls L.D.S. temple and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in August of this year.  He loved telling people that he had two and a half-dozen children – two boys and a half-dozen girls.  He was very proud of each of his children and grandchildren.

Upon retirement, Richard and Glenna were desirous to serve a full-time mission for the L.D.S.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Glenna, and his children Sheryl (Dale) Dille, Kaysville, UT,; Karen (Vance) McHan, Gooding, ID; Ann (Thad) Marvin, Nine Mile Falls, WA; Tom (Tammy) Grover, Emmett, ID; Carol (John) Haken, Filer, ID; Faye Grover, Gooding, ID; Pam (Charles) Cook, Vancouver, WA; and William (Erin) Grover, Boise, ID.  He is also survived by 36 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, as well as his brothers, Kenneth (Elva) Grover, Lynn Grover, and his sister Marilyn (Tim) Tiffany, all of Utah.  He is also survived by many in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews who loved and respected him.  He was preceded in death by his parents, twin infant sisters, and one granddaughter, Thalia Marvin.  He was a vital part of his family and will be greatly missed.

We would like to express our appreciation for all those who helped provide care for Richard for the past three years of his life.
