Richard “Dick” Keith Kisler, 85, of Galesburg, died at 5:20 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Heartland Health Care and Rehab, Galesburg.
Dick was born January 10, 1933 in New Boston Twp, the son of Ralph H. and Anna Hazel (Leahigh) Kisler. He married Colleen Foote on October 16, 1954 at St. Catherine’s Church in Aledo. She survives of Galesburg. Dick is also survived by four daughters, Traci (Robert) Smith of East Galesburg, Patti (Ed) Leeson of Galesburg, Jodi (Mick) Wood of North Henderson, and Tobi Kisler of Galesburg; one son, Scott R. Kisler of Davenport, IA; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Dick is also survived by one brother, Boyd Kisler of Galesburg; one sister, Kathryn (Glenn) Tracy of Galesburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
Dick graduated from Aledo High School in 1953. He then came in to the family business Kisler Bros. Hi-Lo Grocery. Dick operated the store in Abingdon until his retirement in 2007. Dick was a charter member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and was also a member of Knights of Columbus Council 556. He was a life member of the NRA. Dick’s passion for over 50 years was his membership in the Bluegrass Fisherman’s Club on the boundary waters in Lac La Croix, Ontario, Canada. Dick shared many happy times on the island with his family and friends.
