RCMC Richard “Dick” Lapolice, 75 of Centralia passed away Monday, October 29, 2012, at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Centralia. Mr. Lapolice was born September 21, 1937 in Miltonvale,Kansas son of William Lapolice and Agnes (Brannick) Lapolice.

He married Angelina (Zucca) Lapolice on September 13, 1989, in Clinton, Indiana and she survives in Centralia.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Lapolice is survived by a son, Richard Lapolice, and wife Marcie of O’Fallon; a daughter, Deborah Lapolice of Raleigh, N.C.; a step-daughter: Pamela Kay Truax of Centralia; two grandsons: Christopher Lapolice and wife Chelsa and Tyler Lapolice of O’Fallon; one brother: Larry Lapolice and wife Lois; sister-in-law: Glenda Lapolice of California; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mr. Lapolice was preceded in death by his parents and a step-daughter, Penny Lee Truax, a brother, Tommy Lapolice, and two sisters in infancy.

Mr. Lapolice graduated from high school and then joined the U.S. Navy the following day. He served a year term in the U.S. Navy and then went to work in a factory. After working in the factory setting he decided that working in a factory was not what he wanted to do, so he joined the U.S. Coast Guard. He worked and served His Country for the U.S. Coast Guard for 26 ½ years and retired. Mr. Lapolice later worked for the Highland Police Department for 15 years as a Dispatcher and later retired. He was a member of the Centralia Elks Lodge 493 and a member of the Westville American Legion Post 51. He volunteered with the Special Olympics. He enjoyed fishing, and traveling and visited all 50 States in the United States. Most of all he loved spending time with family and friends.
