Richard “Dick” G. Ramsey, Sr., 88 years of age, of Firth passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Bryan Medical Center East in Lincoln. He was born on Christmas Day, 1929 in Odell to Homer and Elizabeth (Brandt) Ramsey. Dick attended school in Beatrice. He married Ruth Imes and they later divorced. Dick served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring after 20 years where he was a Munition Maintenance Man during both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He held several jobs including working for the City of Beatrice. Dick married Linda Boden on July 26, 1995 in Beatrice. He was a member of the American Legion in Beatrice and Cortland. Dick enjoyed fishing and golfing. He enjoyed football games so much that although he would never remember what his wife said to him, he could wake her up and tell her every play of the game he just watched. Dick was also a firm believer that Scott Frost will save Nebraska Football.

Dick is survived by his wife, Linda J.; 3 sons, Michael G. and wife Kari of Beatrice, Richard G., Jr. and special friend Ann Peek of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Patrick G. and wife Darla of Beatrice; 2 step-sons, Ron Boden, Jr. and wife Mary of Hallam, Scott Boden of Ord; step-daughter, Mary Ann Miller and husband Dale of Palmyra; 7 grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Rachel Raney of Greenville, Texas; brother, Clyde Ramsey and wife Maude of Beatrice; sister-in-law, Joanne Ramsey of Wilber; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-grandson, Boone Alan Boden; great grandson, Connor Winchester; 5 sisters; and 2 brothers.
