Richard “Dick” Bowermaster, 71, of Morgantown, WV, died on August 23, 2017, at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown.
Dick was born August 5, 1946 in Kingwood, a son of the late Joseph Norman and Helen Mabel (Wickes) Bowermaster.
He was a 1964 graduate of Kingwood High School. He attended Fairmont State College where he earned his teaching degree in Chemistry and Biology and was a member of Theta XI Fraternity. He retired from Patriot Mining in 1997. Dick attended the Suncrest United Methodist Church in Morgantown. Dick liked to hunt, fish, and sit and watch the grass grow. He was a member of the Preston Lodge #90 AF & AM, the Scottish Rite Valleys of Morgantown and Clarksburg, Shriners Osiris Temple in Wheeling, Morgantown Shrine Club, Mountaineer Patrol, and Preston County Shrine Club. He was named Shriner of the Year by the Morgantown Shrine Club in 2015.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Jill (Foley) Bowermaster; son and spouse, Todd Bowermaster and Jaime of Cheat Lake; step-son and spouse, William Kirk and Lori of Charlotte, NC; daughter and spouse, Amanda Bowermaster and Paul Schnitter of Columbus, OH; step-daughter and spouse, Lauran Kirk-Parker and Robert of Morgantown; brother, Don Bowermaster of Kingwood; three grandchildren, Ryleigh, Baylee, Aria; step-grandchildren, Emma and Ronan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Connie Jo (Evans) Bowermaster in 1996.
