Richard Dee Williams, 80, a resident of Gooding, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021 at his home in Gooding.
Richard was born on August 28, 1940 in Twin Falls, the son of Phillip Williams and Eva Belle (Schmidt) Williams. He was raised and educated in Twin Falls where he graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1959. He worked for Olmstead’s farms and feedlots.
Richard married Carol Lee Kyle on November 4, 1962 in Twin Falls. Together they started their family in 1963 having four children – Karrie, Terrie, Richard and Phillip. Richard moved his family to Gooding in 1972. He worked for Vern France feedlots, working there until the feedlot sold 29 years later. Richard and Carol moved to town and became first time home owners,
Richard was an avid fisherman and hunter. He raised his family to be very independent – they raised chickens, rabbits, pigs, Labrador dogs for hunting, huge gardens and all family members were taught and raised to can and preserve for winter groceries.
Richard had a big influence on many kids. He helped with 4-H, Girl Scouts and took a lot of “extras” camping, hunting and fishing.
Richard is survived by: his wife – Carol Williams of Gooding; two sons – Richard Dean Williams of Jerome and Phillip (Nancy) Williams of Gooding; two daughters – Karrie Giles of Gooding and Terrie (Don) Rider of Kimberly; two sisters – Phillis Jean Uptain of Buhl and Valarie (Matt) Dinkel of Twin Falls; eight grandchildren – Kyleen, Derek, Ashlee, Brandon, Brandyn, Brittney, Jeff and Becky; nine great grandchildren – Jacob, Kaitlynn, C.J., Dawson, Bentley, Brexlynn, AriBella, Paige and Zayla.
He was preceded in death by his parents – Phillip and Eva Williams.
