Richard Colón (Tato), 63, born in Brooklyn, NY on December 19, 1949, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Holmes Regional Medical Center, Melbourne, FL. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Hilda, and their children Richard Colón Jr., Warner Robins, GA; and Michele Richtmeyer and her husband Erik, Rockledge, FL; as well as the seven grandchildren, Celeste Marie, Karina Lynn, Tiara Lyn, Jordan Ashleigh, Nelson Jr., Eric Anthony and Mia Anne. He is also survived by his step-mother; Ada Colón-Rodriguez and his brothers and sisters; Mario Colón Jr., Judith Colón, Ada Febles, Yvette Blas, Jaime Colón, Olga Colón, Pedro Colón, Mario Colón, Carlos Colón, and Yolanda Lugo.
Richard completed his Masters Degree and graduated from Columbia Southern University.
