Richard “Ted” Chase, 77, of Galien, Michigan, died Monday, May 31, 2010 at Lakeland Community Hospital, Niles, Michigan. Ted was born July 9, 1932 in Galien to Samuel and Mildred (Morley) Chase. He served his country in the U.S. Army infantry during the Korean War and received the Purple Heart for his actions.
Ted lived his entire life in Galien, still living in the same house he was born in. Ted worked in construction and was a member of the Carpenter Union. He loved to go mushroom hunting and walking in the woods. He was an avid outdoors man who loved to hunt and fish.
Ted is survived by his children Steve (Glenda) Chase of Merritt Island, Florida; Ron Chase and Tom Chase both of Chicago, Illinois; Ted (Kari) Chase and Don Chase both of Galien; grandchildren Jason, Jeremy, Jeff, Brandon, Dana, Erin, Emily, and Bradlee; great grandchildren Kaylie, Steven, Hunter and Parker; sister Clarice Schroeder of Three Oaks and sister-in-law Joyce Chase of Galien. Ted was preceded in death by his brother Ernie Chase and sister Marge Lott.
