Richard B. “Dick” Henning, the son of Albert C. and Minnie V. (Redding) Henning, was born March 10, 1946 in Newton, Iowa.  He was a graduate of Newton High School in 1965.

From 1965 through 1967, Dick was in the U.S. Army. when he returned to Newton, he went to work for the Maytag Company. Dick retired in September 1998 from the Automatic Assembly Line.  He was a member of the UAW Local 997.  On August 19, 1989, Dick was married to Diane M. Bradley.  He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, golf and he loved to watch and talk Newton Cardinal football.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Peggy; his three brothers and four sisters. Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Diane; his six brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Glenda Henning of Texas; Bob and Helen Henning of Cascade, Iowa; Harold Henning of Newton; Albert “Skip” and Ona Henning of Newton; James and Mary Henning of Kellogg, Iowa; and Tommy Henning of Vermont; and his two sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Bill Stafford of Newton and Chrystal and Rodney Walker of Newton.
