Richard “Dick” Ascroft, 96, passed away Monday July 21, 2014 in Franklin.
He was a resident of Franklin and formerly of Indianapolis. Dick was born August 10, 1917 in Chicago to Richard and Mary (Marsden) Ascroft.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II.
He worked in sales and most recently at the Walmart in Carmel until retiring.
Dick was a 32 degree Mason.
He is survived by a grandson, Richard C. Ascroft and his wife, Norma of England, and two great-grandchildren, Ava and Ricky Ascroft.
He was preceded in death by is parents, his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Ascroft, a son, Richard M. Ascroft, three sisters, Elizabeth Winkless, Ellen Haglund and Marion Johnson and three brothers, William,Ernest, and Joseph Ascroft.
