South Bend – Richard A. Klosowski, 67, of South Bend, passed away on Tuesday August 26, 2014 in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. He was born on September 3, 1946, in South Bend, to Anthony and Mary Klosowski. On January 24, 1970 he married Rose Jelinski, who survives. He is also survived by his daughters, Rebecca Klosowski of Goshen and Katie (Jeremy) Wirebaugh of South Bend; his son, Anthony Klosowski of South Bend; a grandson, Ian Klosowski; and by his father, Anthony (Cecilia) Klosowski of South Bend. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Kole and his mother, Mary. Richard retired in 2004 from the South Bend Police Department, where he served for 33 1/2 years as a Police Officer. He was a United States Navy Vietnam Veteran, a member of the VFW Post #385 and the American Legion Post #284, the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree and a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. Richard was a freshmen football coach at St. Joseph High School in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He enjoyed fishing and going on fishing trips.
