HAVERHILL – Richard “Dick” A. Breault, 92, longtime Haverhill resident, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at his residence. He was the loving husband of the late Mary E. (Fiorentini) Breault with whom he shared sixty-one years of marriage.
Born in Haverhill on September 25, 1925, he was the son of the late Evelyn (McLaughlin) and Andrew Breault. After graduation from Haverhill Trade School, Richard joined the Merchant Marines where he served as a machinist on army transport ships. Upon discharge, he was employed by Polaroid Corporation where he worked directly with founder Edwin Land to build prototypes for the early Polaroid cameras. He later worked at Yale University’s Sloan Lab and subsequently became the founder and president of Northeastern Tool Company, NETCO Automation, and Marlin Industries.
Richard was very active in his industry and community.
