Ricardo Saldana
August 31, 1941 – January 13, 2022
Ricardo Saldana, best known from all his loved ones as simply Grandpa or Rick has joined our lord and savior in the corridors of heaven.
Grandpa, at the age of 80, joined our heavenly father on January 13, 2022. He peacefully passed away in the comfort of his home next to the love of his life of 59 years. He left this world while holding the hand of his loving wife, Juanita Saldana and his daughters, Ruby Saldana and Carmen Garcia. Along his bedside where his beloved grandson, Jonathan and his loving granddaughter, Stefanie Villalpando.
In his last days, Grandpa enjoyed the company of his grandchildren and close friends who gathered to say their goodbyes. As a US Army corporal, Ricardo traveled the world in the early 1960’s and was forever proud to defend our nation and we will forever be grateful for his service.
He will now join his son, Ricky in heaven where he has been patiently waiting for his father since 1983. Also waiting for him in heaven are his brothers and sister, Benito, Juan, Julio, and Eva.
Grandpa leaves behind a legacy of family traditions and community. He will be remembered with great joy and celebration by his sisters, Mary, Molly, and brother, Joseph. He will forever be treasured by his grandchildren, Marissa (Kevin), Sean (Carrie), Stefanie (Felix), Jonathan (Eira), Scott (Katina), and Eric (Caroline). His 20 greatgrandchildren will forever remember the man with shinny Santa-like beard who brought joy to their life with his sense of humor, famous BBQ, and baking excellence. He also left two great-great-grandchildren who will be told the story of a man who was the patriarch and the orchestrator of a very close-knit family. To a man of principles, impeccable character, a role model for the men in his family, and most importantly a loving and devoted husband; we say We Love You, we will miss you deeply, until we see you again Grandpa; may you forever rest in peace.
