Rhoda Bettin, age 88, of Edwardsburg, died peacefully Monday, August 7, 2017 in Miller’s Merry Manor in New Carlisle, Indiana in the comfort of her family’s presence.
She was born April 7, 1929 in Merrill, Wisconsin to Albert and Elenora Munderloh.She married John Schmidtke in 1958. He preceded her in death in 1981. She married Gerald Bettin in 1998. He preceded her in death in 2003.
She was also preceded her parents and one brother, Jerome Munderloh.Rhoda was a faithful member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Cassopolis. She earned a Master’s degree in Education and taught in the Edwardsburg Schools for a number of years.Rhoda will be greatly missed by family and friends.
She is survived by daughter, Jane Voorde of South Bend; her son, Paul (Patricia) Schmidtke of Lima, Peru; two granddaughters, Rebeca (Chris) Sparks, Rachel Schmidtke; one great granddaughter, Olivia Grace Sparks; two sisters, Vida Chattin, Sandra (Lou) Borelli; two brothers, Walter Munderloh, Roy Munderloh; and a host of nieces and nephews.
