Loving Father and Uncle

 

Northfield — Rheo F. Desrochers, 89, formerly of Fenn Rd. and Litchfield Woods, died Saturday June 20, 2009,  at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the widower to Lucienne (Paquette) Desrochers. Rheo was born on April 23, 1920 in Waterbury, to the late Ernest and Clara (Pomerleau) Desrochers. Rheo was one of fourteen children. He grew up on and worked the family farm in Northfield in his younger years, found love for playing the harmonica and continued to play at Litchfield Woods. Rheo served our country in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a US Army veteran, serving in the European Theater as a tank operator during the WWII era. He became a state employee and worked for the Highway Maintenance Department for Connecticut.  Rheo was a member of the Northfield Beacon Grange #118 and a communicant of St.

Rheo is survived by two sons, Charles F. Desrochers of Waterbury, Leonard E. Desrochers of Terryville, two brothers, Andrew F.
