Rex Jones, 96, of Sawyer, Michigan died Sunday, January 25, 2015 at I.U. LaPorte Hospital.Rex was born November 20, 1918 in LaPorte, Indiana to Jesse and Carol (McCarty) Jones. He graduated from LaPorte High School in 1938. He served his country in the US Army Air Force during WWII in Alaska.
On February 26, 1946 he married Lois Gorden in Michigan City, Indiana. He retired from Joy Manufacturing Company. Rex liked to spend his time fishing, going to Toy Shows and collecting Farm Toys. He loved working in his yard and gardens. He was a member of the Randall Couchman American Legion Post 204 of Three Oaks.Rex is survived by his daughter, Debra Sprague of New Buffalo, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, sons David and Larry, brothers Chester “Chet” Jones and Lloyd “Casey” Jones and sister Thelma “Tom” Warren.
