Vernon Asbury Windom, 87, of Rossville, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 21, 2017. Vernon was born in Carrollton, Ga, May 10, 1929. He graduated from Mt. Zion High School, attended Emory University, and Edinburg University in Scotland. Vernon is a well-known Methodist minister of the Holston Conference where he served for 55 years.
Survivors are his wife of 64 years, Freida Ann Windom; daughter, Phyllis (James) Stinnett, Flintstone; son, Brent Windom, Kennesaw, Ga; grandchildren, Chris (Tanaia) Stinnett, Ringgold, Amanda (Donnie) Dehnke, Portsmouth, Va, and Heather (Brad) Todd, Hixson; great-grandchildren, Seth & Lexie Stinnett, Kylah & Dakota Dehnke, and Paige Todd.
