Rev. Mr. Daniel McGuire, 74, died on July 11, 2021, surrounded by his family.
Dan was born on June 12, 1947, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Vivian and Ralph McGuire. He grew up in Minneapolis, MN, and married Mary Kavanaugh on August 3, 1968. Dan was ordained a Deacon in 1993 and worked in multiple parishes in the Diocese. He enjoyed taking his sons on baseball trips and spoiling all his grandchildren with love. Dan was very active in the diaconate community and marriage ministries.
Dan is survived by his four sons, Robert (Chris) McGuire of Ankeny, IA, Patrick McGuire of West Des Moines, IA, Michael (Amanda) McGuire of Windsor Heights, Ted (Sujata) McGuire of Swampscott, MA; Kindel (Brett) Larkins of Ankeny; three brothers, Dennis (Nancy) McGuire, Terry (Dorothea) McGuire, Brian (Roxanne) McGuire; one sister, Kathleen Sommer; nine grandchildren, Emily, Alyson, Megan, Devon (Emi), Jordan (Natalee), Eleanor, Sylvia, Lochan, and Beckett; two great-grandchildren, Theodore and Leila.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife and parents.
