Rev. Marshall L. Vaughn, 86, of Cottonwood, AZ & Caldwell, ID, passed into his “Father’s” arms on Thursday, March 1st, 2018, in and amongst his Arizona paradise at his son, Randy’s house.
Marshall was born on April 22nd, 1931 in Mt. Vernon, IL, to Clarence and Lila Vaughn. Marshall’s childhood and early formative years were full of poverty a lot of hardship. It was his family’s sojourn and complete move to Denver, CO, in his teen years that really started Marshall on his rapid road to the ministry.
After a couple years in college Marshall and Roberta took a part-time pastorate in the Desert Mountains of Southern California in a little town called Ansa. They were barely paid enough to cover the gas for the drive there and back each weekend.
Deciding to retire in 1995, it was an easy decision to come back to Caldwell and more specifically their beloved Canyon Hill.
Everywhere Marshall pastored, he was very active in each district he was on. Even in retirement, Rev. Vaughn could not stop ministering.
Marshall is survived by, Roberta, his beautiful bride of 65 years; his two sons, Randy (Carol) of Cottonwood, AZ and Garret (Carole) of Nampa, ID; his two grandsons, Travis (Jennifer) of Boise, ID and Kevin of Cottonwood, AZ; his two granddaughters, Amanda (Chris) of Nampa, ID and Kaylee (Lindy) of Nampa, ID. He is also survived by his younger brother, Duane (Carol) of Payette, ID; niece Denai, nephew Christopher and sister, Marcella (Gene) of Alton, IL. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Norman of Nampa, ID and his special niece, Joni of Vancouver, WA. Also with numerous other nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren and many other “adopted” family members around the U.S.
Marshall was proceeded in going home by his parents, Clarence and Lila; sisters Nelma Smith; in-laws, Harry and Mildred Mackey; brother-in-law, Norman Mackey as well as many other relatives and friends around the U.S.
