Rev. John Henry Nelson, 81, Middletown, died at Millers Merry Manor in Middletown after an extended illness.
He was born January 25, 1930 in Dodson, Montana. A 1966 graduate of Anderson College, he was a retired Church of God minister with churches in Indiana, Idaho, and Arizona and a successful business entreprenuer. His favorite past time was playing golf.
Survivors include his children, Glenda Douglas Oakley, Peggy O’Neal Sneed, Vickie David Schlabach, Karla Friend, Angela Brad Lohman and Tonya Chris Dockter; three brothers, Ernest Nelson, Carl Nelson & Harry Nelson; fifteen grandchildren, Todd, Tracie, Krista, Denise, Dennis, Bradley, Danita, Nicole, Shannon, Amber, Sara, Whitney, Cole, Johnathon and Bradley; twenty-five great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, whom he married March 3, 1951, Faye Payton Nelson, in 1988; second wife, whom he married August 24, 1989, Phyllis Bard Ogle Nelson, in 2002; parents, Erick & Bertha Myrvang Nelson; brother, Gene Nelson; sister, Esther Britton; and son-in-law, Gene Friend.
