Reverend Elma V. Haynes of Ocean, New Jersey, serenely passed away, on May 11, 2015.  She was born August 20, 1937 in Ancon Gorgas Canal Zone, Panama Republic of Panama, where she graduated from the Paraiso Canal Zone High School, Class of 1957.

At her young age she was a member of the Saint Albans Episcopal Church in Paraiso where she was confirmed.

In a vision Elma saw the hands of the Lord pouring people from a pitcher into hell!  In the meantime God had an Angel take her into hell where she saw people screaming and hollering and doing things that are not of God.

The Angel brought her back up, because she was scared and frightened of what she saw.

Elma married the late Harold H. Haynes.  Together they had a son, Troy C. Haynes.  She migrated to the United States to work and upgrade her education.  Academically, she has two certificates in Sign Language from Brookdale Community College, with some computer courses, a certificate from North East Computer Institute of Data Entry, and a certificate from the School of Business Machines.

Elma later returned to Monmouth Bible Institute in Farmingdale, NJ and received a two year certificate in Hermeneutics and Theology.  Pastor M. Young of Deliverance Ministries in Albany, New York and Neptune, New Jersey, awarded her a Certificate in Evangelism.  Elma also received a Certificate from the International School of Ministry, Jasper, Arkansas, where she was a Member of End-Time Handmaiden and Servants.  She was also a member of the Aglow, and had several certificates from The Benny Hinn School of Ministry, on- line.

Elma had the opportunity of being the Chaplain for her class of ‘57 in New York.  This gave her the opportunity to preach in Panama Republic of Panama for the whole class, which were Canal Zone Residents. She had also preached several women’s day messages at Emmaus Christian Community Church in Brooklyn, NY under Pastor Prudencia Del Valle.

Reverend Haynes was ordained on April 14, 2002 by Alpha Omega Christian Fellowship.  At which time she taught Bible Study in her home in Tinton Falls, NJ, and ministered at nursing homes, hospitals and prison.  She has also ministered at some of the AME Zion churches in Tinton Falls, NJ and Clinton Chapel in Middletown, NJ.

Elma was always ready to give, help, and bless those in need and those less fortunate than herself.  You could call upon her at any time, night or day and she was always ready to help and assist them in any way she could.

Elma is survived by her son, Troy C. Haynes and his wife Anna Marie; two grandchildren, Troy and Alex; brothers, Amos and Claude Brathwaite and their wives and children; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
