The Rev. Donald L. “Don” Baker, 92, of Williamsport passed away, Sunday, June 14, 2020, at The Williamsport Home. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Eva Mae (Koch) Baker on Oct. 24, 2018.
Born Oct. 16, 1927, in Montoursville, he was a son of the late Raymond S. Baker and Lulu Bell (Mull) Baker Weaver.
Don was a graduate of Williamsport High School and honorably served his country in the United States Navy. Don was employed as an iron worker with the Local 404 and began Living Church in 1966 where he served as pastor until 2015. Don was a faithful Christian and was involved with the program Christian Home League where he enjoyed bringing family devotion into everyone’s homes. He enjoyed being outdoors and hunting, but most of all loved spending time with his family.
Surviving are his six children, Ronald L. Baker (Lucinda), of Florida, Deborah L. Weaver (Allan), of Williamsport, Dawn E. Embick (Greg), of Montana, Roger E. Baker (Debra), of Loyalsock, Rex A. Baker (Lou Ann), of Loyalsock, and Randy S. Baker (Robin Richards), of Loyalsock; 17 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren with one on the way, and nine great-great-grandchildren with one on the way.
In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Derrick Baker, granddaughter, Jennifer Powell, great-granddaughter, Emma Sanner, great-great-granddaughter, Eliza Swartzfegger; a brother, Raymond G. Baker; and a sister, Blanche C. “Tutty” Farr.
