Clifford Edwin Isaacson, the son of Richard Emil and Allie (Nissila) Isaacson, was born on May 17, 1934 at home in Township of Cedar Valley, Minnesota. He graduated from Hermantown High School in 1952 in Duluth, MN. He studied Engineering at the University of Minnesota – Duluth and received his Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern College in Minneapolis, MN in 1958. Cliff then attended the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary, obtaining his Bachelor of Divinity degree in 1961. On April 18, 1953 Cliff was united in marriage with Kathleen Myre in Duluth. He was ordained as a Presbyterian Minister and served in Presbyterian and Methodist congregations retiring in 1985 from the First United Methodist Church in Algona. At that time, he launched the Upper Des Moines Counseling Center, practicing as a Pastoral Counselor doing an Ericksonian type of counseling using Birth Order analysis with an office located at the First United Methodist Church in Algona. Cliff also authored several published books based on his birth order techniques.

Cliff was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Morwens Kiwanis, Toast Masters and MENSA. He enjoyed fishing, building canoes, telling corny jokes, watching birds, squirrels and deer. Cliff loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren.

Left to cherish Cliff’s memory is his wife of 61 years, Kathy; his children, Duane Isaacson of Rio Dell, CA, Mary (Scott) Popejoy of Bode, Shirley Schmitt, Linda (Tom Rezabek) Isaacson of Irvington and Kevin (Tammy) Isaacson of Manly; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley Latimer of Virginia, MN, Dorothy Daigle of Wahlsonburg, CO, and Diane Kehus of Embarrass, MN; and three brothers, Ralph (Kathy) Isaacson of Iron, MN, Marvin (Carol) Isaacson of Iron, MN and Irvin Isaacson of Virginia, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harold Isaacson.
