Rev. Claude N. Bailey, 77, of 4840 Whitmell School Road, Dry Fork, VA died Tuesday, May 11, 2010 in Danville Regional Medical Center. Born May 12, 1932 in Pelham, NC, he was the son of the late Alexander Bailey and the late Elizabeth Martin Bailey. He pastored various churches throughout the state. He was a member of North Main Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He is survived by his wife, Judy Slate Bailey of the residence. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Mike Bailey of Pelham and Mark Bailey of Virginia Beach; a step-son, Allen Bryant of York, England; two step-daughters, Elizabeth Sullivant of Fredericksburg, and Suzanne Nettles of Bristol. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Elizabeth Perkins and Lounette Cornell; and three brothers, Clyde Bailey, Dewey Bailey and Edwin Bailey.
