Retired Captain, James Howard “Mac” McClellan Jr., 86 of Worthington Springs, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022, at the North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. He was born in Monticello, Florida, the youngest of three children, to the late James Howard McClellan, Sr. and Minnie Lou McDowell McClellan. Mr. McClellan earned a football scholarship to Florida State University in 1953 and served our country for 2 years in the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife, Patty McClellan, Worthington Springs; his son, James H. McClellan, III (Carol), Trenton; his daughter, Angie McClellan, Wellborn; one sister, Peggy Moore, Jacksonville; two grandchildren, Joel McClellan (Precious), Steinhatchee and Caroline McClellan, Trenton; and one great-grandson, Jay McClellan, Steinhatchee.
