Renate Babette Bachman, age 80, of Rensselaer passed away Thursday, November 24, 2011 at the Jasper County Hospital.
Babette was born May 16, 1931, in Schweinfurt, Germany to Anton and Maria (Dorsch) Gerhard. She was educated in Schweinfurt. On May 24, 1956, in Schweinfurt, Germany, she married Donald E. Bachman who passed away April 20, 2005.
Babette moved from Germany to the United States and lived in Hawaii before moving to Rensselaer. She was a homemaker. Babette was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church of Rensselaer.
Surviving are her sister, Johanna Faust of Schweinfurt, Germany, a nephew Robert Tettenburn two niece’s, Linda Enderle of Germany and Linda (Ryan) DeMoss of Rensselaer, sister in law Patricia(Noel) Mc Craw of NC, brother in law, Paul (Christine) Bachman of Rensselaer, IN and several nieces and nephews in Rensselaer and NC.
