Renae Mae Bassett Taylor was born on July 13, 1948 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Charlie Mae Robertson and Eugene Bassett. She graduated from Clay High School in Green Cove Springs with the class of 1966. She was a dedicated employee for the Town of Orange Park for 35 years before her retirement, serving in various departments such as public works and administration. She loved fast cars, fishing and fashion.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of St. James AME of Orange Park for many years.
Renae Mae was preceded in death by her sister, Norma Jean Riley and brothers, Jackie and Larry Bassett. She will remain in the hearts of her uncle, Willie James “Red” Idlett; aunt, Doris Pullings; two sisters, Jeanette Martin (Al) and Brenda Faye Smith; one brother, Steve Pollard (Jossette); one sister-in-law, Linda Bassett; nieces, Tuwanna Bassett, Kaleena Pollard and Andrea Pollard; nephews, Reginald Riley, Jack Gainers, Pierre Riley, Omar Frazier, Gabrielle Martin, Rick Pollard, Matthew Pollard, Jeffery Bassett, and Robert Eugene Smith; devoted life-long friends Katie Brown and Katherine Bradley and a host of cousins and friends.
