Regino ” Reggie” Cora, 75, of Bethlehem, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014, in the home of his son, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Arroyo, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Martin and Alejandrina (Nieves) Cora. Reggie graduated from Lehigh County Community College with a Criminal Justice Degree. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force. Reggie was Bethlehem’s first Latino police officer. He served the City of Bethlehem for 29 years, retiring as a lieutenant. He later worked for Northampton County District Attorney’s Office for 15 years, until retiring in 2013. He was a member of FOP-Star Lodge #20, Puerto Rican Beneficial Society and BVFHA. Survivors: include his loving family, daughters, Maria M. Wilder and her husband, Raymond of Bethlehem; Christine M. Siessmayer and her husband Craig of Brienigsville and Leigh Anne Dalton of Boca Raton, FL; sons, Reggie W. Cora and his wife, Lilly of Bethlehem; Edwin G. Cora and his wife, Denice of Santa Maria, CA, Tomas R. Cora and his wife, Michele of Catasauqua; 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Zilkya DeJesus and Sonia Cora both of Florida and Nancy LaLuz of Bethlehem; and his former wife, Martha Merced of Bethlehem. A son Stephen Cora died in 2011 and a brother Martin Cora, Jr. died earlier.
