Miss Regina Mayre Robinson, 87, a resident of West House Personal Care Home, 616 West Edwin Street, died at The Gatehouse of Divine Providence Hospital Sunday, April 24, 2011.

Born on her parent’s farm in Woodward Township, September 21, 1923, she was a daughter of the late J. (James) Raymond and Mayre E. McClarin Robinson.

Miss Robinson lived on Ames Place, Williamsport, from childhood until 1967, when she removed to Florida. Upon moving back to the area she resided in Brookside, then at Roaring Branch.

Miss Robinson was a 1944 graduate of Dickinson Junior College, forerunner to Lycoming College, where she studied music.

A brother, James McClarin Robinson IV, died April 9, 1993.

Miss Robinson was a member of the Lycoming Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution and was a direct descendent of Revolutionary War Lt. Col. William Hepburn, an Irish immigrant, who was the first president judge of Lycoming County. On April 12 she was presented with a framed certificate at a DAR luncheon recognizing 60 continuous years of membership.

Miss Robinson was an avid student of local history and enjoyed Bible study, antiques, feeding birds and wildlife that visited her former country home. She took in and cared for many abandoned cats and dogs throughout her adult life.
