Rebecca Sue (Nims) Whitaker, 58, of Kenton, Ohio passed away on April 23, 2023 after a 4.5 year battle with cholangiocarcinoma.

Rebecca was born on April 4, 1965 to the late Daniel and Karen (Prine) Nims in Lima, Ohio. After graduating from Lima Senior High School in 1983, Rebecca went on to graduate with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University in 1987.

In 1989, Rebecca met Rick (Richard) Whitaker, and they wed in 1992, going on to have 2 children, Morgan (Hayden) Ellis and Allison (Devin) Brooker.

When Rebecca had married Rick, she decided to dedicate her life to being the most wonderful mother and wife. She excelled at not only being a mother to their children, but also being a stepmother to his other children, Michael (Mike) Whitaker, Courtney (Angie) Whitaker, Richard (Rich) Whitaker, Ashley Diego, and Kellee (Steven) Wray, and supporting them all through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. Rebecca looked at all of their children as her children and made it her goal in life to be the most accepting, loving, and caring mother she could be to all of them. Rebecca was also the most loving grandmother to her 8 grandchildren, Wyatt Ellis, Zane, Mya, and Kate Whitaker, Christina Diego, Nicolas Whitaker, Carlee and Lana Wray, and great granddaughter Violet Whitaker.

In 2014, Rebecca purchased Pfeiffer Station General Store and became the sole Owner of the store. Cooking was one of Rebecca’s favorite things to do, so she added a full kitchen to Pfeiffer Station General Store and began selling home cooked meals to members of the community. Rebecca loved her store, her customers, and her employees.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, her stepsons Michael (Mike) Whitaker and Richard (Rich) Whitaker, and two grandsons Derrick Diego and Ezra Ellis.

Rebecca is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, and her sister Christine (Terry) Wireman.

Rebecca stands in our hearts as a reminder of strength, perseverance, love, and compassion. Though we will mourn her loss daily, we know we will be reunited in time.
