Mrs. Rebecca A. Layle, of Bay City, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at McLaren Bay Region, age 44. She was born on January 30, 1972 in Bay City. Rebecca was raised in Pinconning where she graduated from Pinconning High School and then went on to graduate from Great Lakes Junior College. She was an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and also with Boy Scout Troop #150. Rebecca enjoyed camping and reading. She was a dedicated wife and mother and was a very selfless, giving person, always putting the needs of others first. Rebecca took pride in the care she gave to her family and the time she spent with her son’s every day activities.
On May 30, 1998 Rebecca married the love of her life since high school, William S. Layle, and he survives her passing along with their two sons, Grant and Alan Layle. She is also survived by her father and step-mother, Walter and Janet Helm of Merrill; her sister, Jill (Michael) Phillips of Cookeville, TN; her mother-in-law, Margy (James) Schulz of Essexville; her sister-in-law, Kimberly (Robert) Spyhalski of Bay City; and her nieces and nephews, and many cousins and friends. Rebecca was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Anne (Trudell) Helm; and her father-in-law, Robert Layle.
