Reba Litie Gray Chance Barbee, 96, of Albemarle, passed away Monday, May 1, 2023, at Spring Arbor of Albemarle.
Reba was born December 2, 1926, in Stanly County, North Carolina to the late John Chance and the late Londa Barringer Chance.
She was also preceded in death by husband, James Lester Barbee, Jr.; sisters, Hazel Chance, Nora Russell, Odessa Aldridge, Mary Almond, and Helen Lowder; brothers, Elmon Chance, Royce Chance, Henry Chance, Robert Chance, Pete Chance and Edward Chance.
Survivors include children, James “Jim” Lester Barbee, III (Sherry), Jane B. Huneycutt (Roger), and Christopher “Chris” Barbee (Wendy); 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Reba was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
