Raymond Richard Baginski, Sr., 86, of Middletown, husband of the late Joanne Elizabeth (Harrington) Baginski, passed away on Wednesday, April 22nd at High View Health Care Center in Middletown. Born in Bayonne, NJ, he was the son of the late Chester and Josephine (Solon) Baginski. Raymond resided in Southington most of his adult life and worked at and retired from Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in Southington. He was active in politics and served on the Southington Town Council in the mid-seventies. He was a founding member of the `Open Dems’, and served as President of the Southington Taxpayers Association. He is also remembered for his term serving as the President of the United Seniors in Action Organization (U.S.A.) and as Retiree Representative for the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Lodge 1746A. Raymond loved animals, especially his two dogs, Nathan and Murphy, loved gardening, nature, enjoyed his grandchildren and loved his family very much. He is survived by five children, Carol McGowan of Old Saybrook, Alice Marie Badecker of Leeds, MA, Joseph Baginski of Plainville, CT, MaryBeth LaFemina of NC, and Raymond R. Baginski, Jr. of CT; and seven grandchildren, Robert LaFemina, Andrew, Julie, and Bryan Badecker, and Scott, Kyle, and Casey McGowan. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his only sister Jenny (Baginski) Stanislavski and two brothers, Eugene Baginski and Edward Baginski.
