Raymond was born on May 7, 1927 in St. Louis, MO to George and Lottie Jane (Hawkins) Bogert. On November 23, 1969 he married Doris Snodgrass Soflin at the United Methodist Church in Seward, NE. He served in U.S Navy from May 25, 1945 until December 18, 1945 and the U.S. Air Force from February 13,1951 until December 7, 1953. He was a chef most of his life and owner of Doris’s Cafe in Seward, NE for 18 years. Raymond passed away on October 13, 2012 in Seward, NE at the age of 85 years, 5 months and 6 days. He is survived by his wife, Doris (Snodgrass-Soflin) Bogert; children, Marc Bogert of Seward, NE, Mike and Myra Soflin of Lincoln, NE, Steve and Lori Soflin of Seward, NE; Bev Soflin (Sam) Schluckebier of Seward, NE, Deanna Soflin (Dala McNew-Soflin) of Lincoln, NE, Dolly Soflin (Bill) Swanson, Tucson, AZ, Donna Soflin (Bob) Thomas, Tucson, AZ, Shirley Soflin (Rick) Thomas of Monroe, CT, Pat Soflin (Buster) Miers of Omaha, NE; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lottie (Hawkins); brothers, George and Calvin; sister, Juanita.
