Ray was born May 6, 1939 in Gardner, Massachusetts to Harry and Beatrice (Taylor) Morse. He attended Northland College and graduated from University of Wisconsin Eau Claire where he played football for the Eau Claire Blugolds. He married the love of his life, Elaine Drackley, on May 6, 1967 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. They were blessed with 51 years of wonderful memories.
Shortly after they were married, Ray and Elaine moved to Scottsdale, AZ for a year and then to Columbus, OH where they resided for 31 years.
Ray was a very complimentary person and was well liked. He was a great storyteller with a wonderful sense of humor. He was an active volunteer with the Wisconsin Rapids Aqua Skiers. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Elaine. Their most memorable vacation was when the couple walked down the Bright Angel Trail into the Grand Canyon, going all the way to Phantom Ranch. For the next five days, they floated down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon.
Ray is survived by his in-laws: Janice Morse, Mary LeMay, Betty Thompson, and Bill (Celia) Drackley; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Elaine; and brothers Richard and Robert Morse.
