Raymond Henry Phillips was my dad, I his oldest daughter.  He and I were meant to have miles between us, so I never really knew him like a daughter should.  I would like to share with you the dad I knew.
He was born in Arizona and raised in Washington by Henry and Eloise Phillips with 2 sisters, Carrie and Mary and 3 brothers, David, Dean and Carl.  Enlisting in the Navy brought him to Whidbey Island for a small time.  Ultimately bring the world a joyous me!
Before really settling in the Stockton CA area Ray became the lucky father to Chad.  From the time we were little, I knew dad loved you.  He stood behind us, he stood silently.
Work days I knew to find him behind his computer and phone helping his customers at General Wholesale Electrical Supply.  Sixteen years with them left him exceptionally gifted in Electrical Sales.  One could easily see he enjoyed his days, being with co-workers, customers and friends.
Fortunately Ray found one of the best gifts in life, a best friend, wife and love in Christina.  In finding and cherishing Christina he found a family full of love.  Little girls that have grown to beautiful, witty young women, little boys that tested (as they should!) and became friends.  As life propelled this family forward a full rewarding bond was built, emerging a family.  He spent his time golfing, working on passion vehicle projects, but mostly his all time favorite was to spoil his 8 grandchildren, birthday parties, family dinners, boating and trips to the park were just a few of his favorite past times.
I will forever miss what should’ve been
I will forever smile at what was
I will live again
I will make new stories to share when we meet again.
