SALEM – Raymond H. Weingart, age 95, of Salem, died at 9:05 a.m. Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born June 6, 1922 in Salem, a son of the late Edward H. and Iva Margaret (Riffle) Weingart.

Ray was a longtime member of the Bunker Hill United Methodist Church, a graduate of Goshen High School and served in the U.S. Army during W.W. II. He retired as a salesman at Ohio Pump and was also involved in many other businesses, Kroger, WD Colonial Villa Mobile Home Park, Salem Post Office and Damascus True Value Hardware.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Helen (Jackson) Weingart whom he married March 9, 1946; three sons, Timothy (Kathleen) Weingart of Salem, Craig Weingart of Salem, and Lance Weingart of Salem; three sisters, Georgene Scott, Nancy (Jim) Kelly and Joan Mellinger; a brother, Kenneth Weingart of Georgia; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was a sister, Barbara Wells and a brother, Norman Weingart.
