Our beloved Husband, Brother, Dad and Tata passed away peacefully November 8, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Heber, CA, Raymond aka “Monchito” was a true craftsman and loved to tell jokes. His sense of humor was like no other. He was extremely artistic and creative and had the ability to build anything he put his mind to. His handy work was impeccable. He never seized to amaze. Raymond left a lasting impression on EVERYONE that crossed his path and will be greatly missed by all.
He is survived by his devoted wife Modesta of 62 years, sisters Anastasia Flores of Oxnard, Prudencia Gomez of Calexico, brother Angel Gomez of Calexico, 9 children: Jose Luis Vasquez (wife Rosa), Maria “Nena” Petris, Rita Cisneros (husband Victor), Raymond Gomez Jr., Patricia Vargas (Dale Price), Manuel Gomez (wife Adeline), Isidro “Chilo” Gomez (Susie), Josie “Bubu” Quintin (husband Steve), Liz Mendez (husband Jesse), 25 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
