Raymond G. McLaughlin

Raymond G “Col. Mac” McLaughlin, Ltc, US Army; passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He was 95 years old and a 28 year US Military aviator. As a flight officer during WWII he flew both gliders and C47 cargo aircraft. During the Korean and Vietnam wars he flew various US Army aircraft. He was awarded the Bronze Star with “V” and Purple Heart medals in Vietnam for defense of an air field. He retired as the 16th awardee of the Army Masters Aviator Rating.

He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Beatrice McLaughlin, his wife of 50+ years Marguerite, his brother Tom, and longtime lady friend, Bobbie Mazza.

He is survived by his sister, Rita Hendesch of Framingham, Mass, his brother, Bob McLaughlin and wife of Sun Lake, AZ, his sons, Raymond Jr. and wife of Orlando, Peter and wife of Tacoma, WA and Michael and wife of Mexico. He had 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. His extended family consisted of many nieces and nephews, many living in or near his birthplace of Framingham, MA.
